Drinking water from a glass or glassware holder is legal to consume and it is not illegal to drink alcohol or use marijuana.
According to the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), there are more than 500 million bottles of water available in the U.S. with over 1.6 billion of them in use, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
The bureau also estimates that there are approximately 5.4 million glassware and glassware containers in the country, with more than 1.4 billion of these being used for drinking purposes.
According to the TTB, most states have laws governing the consumption of alcohol and cannabis, with a handful of states still allowing some consumption of both.
However, many states still ban both.
In most states, possession of small amounts of alcohol or cannabis are still a crime, although the majority of states have made it a civil offense to consume marijuana.
